Queuing and waiting is part of life. So what do you do with all of that wasted time, when your appointment is delayed, you find yourself in a shop or traffic queue or someone is late to your meeting. In fact, it isn't the time that is wasted. The clock keeps ticking in exactly the same way, regardless of how we are spending the seconds, minutes and hours. But as soon as we slip into irritation, complaining or arguing with the reality of the situation, then we give away our time to negativity, and that is the real waste. Instead, it is worth having your personal toolkit to allow you to make the most of every circumstance. Carry a book or kindle and delayed appointments and meetings become extra relaxation or learning time. Audio books and Cds turn traffic jams into story time. Even shopping queues are a great opportunity to practice visualisation and meditation - don't worry if you nod off as the person behind you will always let you know when it is your turn! When you practice playing with wasted time, you may just find that instead of feeling frustrated, you start to look forward to those moments and wishing for more!
